While earning my degree in physical education and exercise science, I was able to be a part of some great teams and enjoyed a lot of success. I was very fortunate to have the opportunity to play football collegiately at the University of North Dakota. In my time at UND I participated on five Division II playoff teams including an appearance in the Division II National Championship game and becoming a part of the University of North Dakota Hall of Fame.
After my playing career, I knew that I wanted to continue professionally in athletics. I started my coaching career as an assistant coach at Red River High School in Grand Forks, ND. After one year at the high school level, I had the opportunity to coach at Northern State University in Aberdeen, SD as a Graduate Assistant Tight Ends Coach. After two successful seasons with the program, I had the opportunity to return to the University of North Dakota as an Assistant Football Coach. My experience and success afforded me the opportunity to become an Assistant Football Coach at Millersville University. In my time at Millersville my roles included coaching both Offensive and Defensive Lines, as well as the Coordinator for Video, Community Service, and Recruiting.
