Emily Wright, Mental Performance Coach

Emily earned her Ph.D. in sports psychology with a specialization in youth sport parenting from Michigan State University’s Institute for the Study of Youth Sports in May 2021. Prior to attending Michigan State, Emily obtained her master’s degree in sport leadership from Miami University (Ohio) and holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology with a minor in kinesiology from Penn State University.

Emily values helping others and sharing her passion for promoting mental performance training as an important component of holistic athlete development and performance. She has ample applied experience working with a diverse range of athletes and performers.

In addition to her work as a mental performance coach, Emily is currently the Director of the Champions 4 Life Leadership Academy at Miami University (Ohio) where she provides leadership and life skills programming to student-athletes, which aims to support them during and after their tenure at Miami. Emily also teaches undergraduate and graduate level sports psychology courses at Miami University as a Visiting Assistant Professor.

Outside of work, Emily enjoys running and exercising, watching Miami hockey games, working at coffee shops, and spending time with her husband, Zack and mini golden doodle, Theo in Oxford Ohio.
