As a Recruiting Specialist for NCSA this position has combined my passion for sports and career counseling to help student athletes and their families achieve their goals. With proper education, guidance and accurate information with the family, finding the college that best suits the student athlete through assessing their wants and needs, I can help set up the student athlete to achieve their long-term goals and reinforce their success in life.
As a Sport Management Professional and Coach, my academic credentials consist of a master’s in human relations/general counseling, and a bachelor’s in athletic administration. Regarding coaching credentials, I have obtained a certification by USA Hockey level 5 Master in coaching, I am a member of the Professional Hockey Athletic Trainers Society, and member of the Society of Professional Hockey Equipment Mangers. My experience consists of holding the Vice Commissioner position for the Eastern Junior Elite Prospect League for over 6 years, developing a National Championship team for USA Hockey at the Junior Level in 2010, developing a college team that finished #2 and #3 respectfully in the Nation as part of the American Collegiate Hockey Association and being named the coach of the year in 2005 for the ACHA. My strengths are related to league operations, recruiting, sales, academic advising, and career counseling student athletes while also coaching for over 30 years. My coaching experience also includes being part of the training staff with the New York Rangers from 1989 to 1993.
During my private time I enjoy spending time with my family in Rhode Island while playing golf, cycling and getting out to do some salt water or freshwater kayak fishing with my son as well as competing against him in our weekly whiffleball games.
