I went to high school in a small town in southern Minnesota, Blue Earth Area. While I was there, I wrestled and played football. My high school wrestling team won two state titles (my junior and senior years). After high school, I attended St. Cloud Technical College and then transferred to St. Cloud State University, where I graduated with a Bachelor of Science in communication studies. I moved to Chicago about six years ago.
I have worked for NCSA for a little more than three years now. Working here has been a great experience; I have helped many families over the course of three years navigate the recruiting process. My favorite part about working for NCSA is knowing that on any given day, I could change a student-athlete’s life for the better, and that it happens on more days than not.
One of the greatest things to see is a student-athlete commit to a college. You know at that point that you have changed a life forever. About two years ago, I was assigned a student-athlete; he was a wrestler who had nothing going on for him when it came to recruiting, and he and his parents did not know what they were doing. They enrolled with NCSA, and a year later, he committed to a historically good DI wrestling program. This is just one of many success stories, but this one has always stuck out to me.
During my off time, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends. I also like to spend time hunting fishing, camping and golfing. I have a son who is 6 months old, and spending time with him is my new favorite hobby.
