My name is Austin Kuchenbecker. My ultimate collegiate goal is find a school that provides both academic excellence as well as competitive athletic play. I plan to study in depth many medical subjects and ultimately hope to become a knowledgeable and professional practitioner. However, no small part of my many collegiate aspirations includes my own membership of a competitive and successful volleyball team.
My entire life, I have never backed down from a challenge and continue to do my absolute best at every chance I get. It doesn't matter if I'm assigned a ten page thesis or told to put an end the other team's biggest outside hitter, I never bring less than 100% of my time, commitment, and focus to the task at hand. I have participated in a variety of athletic programs and am proud to have become the starting varsity middle blocker at Muskego High School in my two year volleyball career. Over those two years I have played two high school seasons and one club season (with the Muskego Stars 17s team). I look forward to my upcoming seasons and do hope to continue on my passion in the years to come.
I came into the sport of volleyball in my Sophomore year of high school well versed in its rules and strategies due to my family's lifelong involvement in the sport. I do feel I have an excellent volleyball IQ and it is my opinion that this shows well in my high school and club standings. From the start of my JV season, I was the starting middle blocker. By the end of the 2012 season I had joined the varsity team in their post season push to the Wisconsin State Tournament. In 2012, Muskego High School took on Marquette in Muskego's second straight showing at state. I tell you all this because, although I did not play in the actual match, this firsthand experience of such explosive and intense and high level play has since then driven me to become the best I can, and to use my skills to further my teams abilities and our whole team's ultimate goal in visiting the state tournament for ourselves.
This drive, the drive to both test and conquer my own abilities, is the same force that I know will allow me to continue to compete at the collegiate level both on and off the court. I have never done anything without determination to be the best, and while I know that can't always be the case, that hope and that determination is what has resulted in my 4.17 GPA, my 30 ACT score, my numerous academic and athletic awards (including the 2013 season's Second Team All-Conference), and my continuing high performance in all aspects of my school and sport career. This determination and this drive and this success is what I know will continue to push me to even greater goals and achievements, and it is what I hope more that one college will see in me.
It has become my dream to compete on and off the court at a high collegiate level, and I would appreciate anyone who would be willing to help me in furthering my goal.
