I have been playing volleyball since my freshman year at Carlsbad High School. At first I began playing volleyball because it was a sport that I thought would complement my main interest of basketball. However, the minute I started playing I knew it was going to be an amazing sport and I have enjoyed it ever since. It hasn't been until the last six months that I really started believing I could pursue volleyball at the next level. In those 6 months I've grown from 6' 4" to just under 6' 7", finished my varsity season as a starting middle blocker and just made the Seaside VBC 18 Black(top team). In addition, I've been lifting and working out regularly for the first time. With continued workouts, I plan on entering my freshman year of college both stronger and quicker. I believe that also playing basketball my senior year will give me an advantage when our spring season begins. My goal is to play at the highest collegiate level possible, while earning a degree that will lead me into a profession of teaching and coaching at either the high school or college level. I am very thankful for the great coaching I have gotten thus far in high school. One of my coaches played at Rutgers while the other starred at UCSB and later played professionally in Europe. They have said that I am the go to guy in pressure situations, and I thrive in this type of atmosphere. I look forward to furthering my education and continuing my volleyball experiences at the next level.
