My name is Luke W Hupp. My friends and family often call me L-Dub but I am more frequently known by the nickname Capital One I currently attend one of Wisconsin's top Charter schools - Lakeview Technology Academy where I was accepted into their pre-engineering program, but I compete athletically in both basketball and track at Kenosha Tremper High School (Division 1) as well as compete for The Kenosha Phylerz Track Club in many USATF meets all year long (For ex. The Wisconsin state meet and USATF National meet in Bloomington, Indiana) I am tremendously blessed to live with both my parents and two sisters. I am tall and long (6'3", 175 Ibs). I absolutely love track and field, especially the jumping events, 300m/400m hurdles, and the long sprints like the 800m and 400m, but would love to compete in the multi-events as I learn to master the other events. As a freshman, I was proud to be promoted to a starter on the JV basketball team and to compete Varsity for track. My sophomore year I ventured to play volleyball for the first time and was able to start on our varsity team as a middle. I also began to go out and pursue other events to work towards the decathlon in the future. I competed in the 400m hurdles, javelin and high jump over my sophomore summer. I was privileged to compete in the USATF Junior Olympic Nationals held in Sacremento where I finished 12th place overall in the high jump as well as competed in the long jump and 400m hurdles. My Christian faith has shaped my attitude and character. As a result, I am a loyal friend, a hard worker, a wise decision maker, and a trustworthy leader. My hope is that my character, grades, and proven athletic achievements and potential will earn me a substantial scholarship at a college with similar characteristics.
When I am not studying or practicing, I enjoy biking (building them as well), playing in my backyard with friends, beating my dad at disc golf, doing coding for iPads and iPhones, watching "brain games" or "shark tank," or just relaxing in the recliner after a hard day's work.
As far as my collegiate goals, athletically, I would like to compete among the highest possible level of competition I am presented with and want to stretch the physical and mental abilities I have every single day. Education-wise, I am very interested in the field of meteorology and environmental science. I would like like to pursue that goal as my education progresses in the future. I hope that my academic and athelic experience combined can help me achieve a full ride college scholarship.
