I believe that a true athlete is someone who is willing to work hard, learn quickly, and leads the team. These are the three most important criteria I follow. I am a 6'6" junior who wieghs 166lbs. I currently am attending Monona Grove Highschool and participate on varsity track. I hope to keep participating in track while attending college. I do High Jump, Triple Jump, and started Long Jump this year. My personal record for High Jump is 6'4", with this jump I am ranked 10th in the state for Highschool Divison One High Jumpers. I hope to achieve a jump of 6' 6", at least, by the end of the year. As a sophmore I was able to win my conference and make it to sectionals. This year I am working hard to make it to state and place well. I work hard during my practices and always try to set good examples to my other Varsity Jumpers and the younger Junior Varsity jumpers. My Triple Jump personal record is 41'9". I believe that I can achieve a better jump this year still. My Long Jump personal record is only 19'4". This may not be a great jump, but this is only my first year doing it. I have Long Jumped in three meets and have had low 19's in all. I am learning quickly and by the end of the year I have set a personal goal to reach at least 20 feet. In all of these event I love gaining new tips and helpful criticism from my coaches and peers. I always am trying to improve my speed, form, and leg strength. Once I have my video in this site I would love to hear some tips from college coaches. I am interested in attending any college that offers a strong course in Computer Programming/ Engineering. I would prefer a college within the Midwest Region, but distance is not a big factor in my college desicion. Thank you all for reading my personal statement, I hope to hear from you soon on anything. Thank you once again!
A Student Athlete,
