I'm a 2 sport varsity athlete in Football and Track. I made a difficult decision at the end of my Track season last year to step away from a starting Quarterback position on the Football team to focus on improving my running. So, as a result of that decsion, I am transitioning from Football to Cross Country this fall to focus on my endurance and bettering my times in the 100m, 200m, and 400m dashes this upcoming track season.
I focus on improving myself daily both on the field and in the classroom, and work just as hard in the off season. After practices and during the off season I also work one on one with a personal trainer 3 to 4 times per week to help me with my strength, conditioning, speed, and form and plan to work with him consistently though my Senior year.
I have place in State the last 2 years. I finished 7th in the state in the 3A 400 meters in Track in 2011. In 2012 I finished 8th in state in the 3A 400 meters in, 15th in the 200 meter and anchored my 4x400 meter relay team that finished 5th in state.. I want to attend a college that will help me grow and succeed academically and allows me to contribute and succeed athletically. I'm committed to success and hold myself to the highest standards on and off the field and believe I would compliment any track program.
My academic goals are to graduate next year with a overall GPA between a 3.2 and 3.5. From there I would like to attend a college, hopefully on an athletic scholarship, where I can earn a degree in Athletic Training and get closer to becoming a Physical Therapist one day.
My goals on the Track are to run a 48.5 second 400m and set a new school record, run under 22 seconds or better in the 200m, and run 11.2 or better in the 100m.
