Derek Cornish '12 Recruiting Profile

I am interestesd in futhering my education. I love to run track. I can hardly wait for track season to arrive. I have been running track since I was four. The events I've run are 400, 200, sprint relay,4x2, and the 4x4. The 4x4 and the 200 are my stronger events to me. When I get the baton in my hand I become a different person. I have played basketball and soccer. I run a 4.5 in my 40, a 49 in my mile relay , and a 22 in my 200. My parents are big supporters of me. My freshman year, I went to regionals and state in the 4x2 and the mile relay. During my sophmore year, I went to regionals in the 4x2 and 400. At the meet, my coach suggested I run the 400 instead of participating in both events. My goal is to go to college so I will not have to depend on my parents. I want to be in a profession that I can make a decent living and enjoy what I do. I'm a hard worker and dedicated. I am looking for a college that will allow me to pursue my dreams and will provide me with assisstance in my education. At this time, I weigh approximately 150 and 5 ft. 10 in. tall. I'm still growing. My eating habits are good and healthy. Each night, I try to get seven to eight hours of sleep. I am active in my church. Currently I am the president for the Jr. Usher Board and participate in the media ministry, Mime Ministry, choir, and youth council.
