Hi, my name is Robert Ford and I am a Junior from San Antonio, Texas. I am 5'9 and weigh 136 pounds. My main events are the 800m and the 400m races, along with being anchor in our 4x400 relay. My current personal record in the 400m is 49.12, 4x400 is 48.8, and in the 800m my P.R. is 1:51.49 .I am the two-time 26-5A District Champion in the 800m(2012,2013) and runner up in the 400m(2013). I Placed in the top 15 for the past 4 years at the AAU Junior Olympic Games and have placed 3 times. I finished 6th overall at the 2012 AAU Junior Olympics in the 800m run. I competed in the Area and Region meets where I placed second at both(2013). I went on to place third at the UIL Texas 5A Championships and set a new city(San Antonio) record of 1:51.49. I feel that I am at an accelerated level for my age and still have a lot of room for improvement to become an even better athlete. I am a leader and enjoy being a role model to other runners who want to further their running careers. I am consistently recognized as a hard working individual on and off the track. I have the drive and aspiration to be a collegiate runner and persue a professional running career. It is a dream to represent my country in international competitions. Running at the Division 1 is a dream but I do not think it is out of my reach. I am willing to look at any college or univeristy with an exceptional Track and Cross Country program which also has the academic base I need for a degree. I have not decided on a Major at this point, but I do have a personal interest in Anesthesiology and Aerospace Engineering. My goal is to compete amongst the best, and I just want to find a college/university that is a family who will enable me to become an even stronger competitor. I will make a difference and show my true potential as a runner anywhere I go. Running is what I love to do and I would be honored to be given the opportunity to compete at the collegiate level.
