I love running cross country because it is the only sport that allows me to compete in an environment that is truly unlike any other. In cross country I compete as an individual and as a team. Running has taught me how to overcome obstacles, to work as a team, and to pace myself to achieve a greater goal. My freshman year, my team missed out on qualifying for Regionals by only 3 points. We then set a goal to qualify for the state meet the next year. As a sophomore, my team upset two of the best teams in the state by winning our District Meet and we were able to achieve our goal of running in the state meet.
I am a determined runner that will push myself to the limit for the greater good of my team. My goal is to be able to compete in cross country at the highest level I can, while receiving a great education and major in a field that interests me. I am a great leader and teammate and can make friends with almost everyone I meet. I act in leadership roles on both my Cross Country team and my soccer team as well as being a leader in the church youth group. I look forward to gaining a college experience that will prepare me for life and allow me to compete against some of the best runners in the nation.
