My goal in college is to become successful academically and athletically. During the span of my college years, I would like to obtain my Master's Degree in Psychology. College is a once in a life time opportunity for men and women, I plan to take advantage of that. During the journey to obtaining my Bachelor's, I would enjoy participating in Track & Field.
I believe myself to be a good runner for your University or College simply because I am like no other. I have heart, desire, a passion for the sport that could never possibly die. I push myself to the limit and push my fellow teammates to achieve more for themselves. As an athlete, you must know where you stand among others. With that being said, I am not an all star. I have my flaws, but where there are flaws, improvements can be made. During college I know I can, and I WILL improve my athletic abilities with the right coaching.
When it comes to comparing myself to other athletes, I am different. What separates myself from other athletes in character is the reason that I run. On Thanksgiving morning of 2014, I got a call with news of my coach passing away. Since that moment I've dedicated myself to become a better athlete academically and athletically. When I run, I do it with passion, in remembrance of the man that now looks down on me. Other athletes who don't know my race believe that it should be paced. Wrong, the hurdles are a full out sprint from start to finish. You have to know your race before you can compete in it. I believe that's what separates me from most athletes who aren't seasoned in Track & Field. When it comes to academics, I am not the brightest of the class, nor am I ranked up there. But I can promise you that I do enough to pass my classes. Now that I'll be attending college with the dream of having my Master's Degree, I will have more desire to focus and pass in class. Academics are a priority to any athlete, well they should be. To pass is to play; that's my motto with classes. Not every athlete can say that academics is a priority to themselves. As for me, they are.
With all that being said, I look forward to attending college and participating in your Track & Field program.
