My name is Drew McRae and I run for Flower Mound High School, both track and cross country. I am 6'2, and weigh 145 pounds. I love to compete, but I know that natural talent can only bring a runner so far. I have worked hard to steadily drop my times down over the years. From my freshmen to my senior year, I have dropped my 5k PR time from 17:58 to 16:06. I finished in top ten in my district for the last two years and in the top twenty in my region. In track, from my freshmen year to my junior year, I dropped my 3200m PR time from a 10:20 to a 9:29, and my 1600m PR time from 4:48 to 4:20. I was named to the Texas pre-season 3rd team all state team.
I also work hard in the classroom. I am in the Leap Gifted Program, a National Merit Commended student and am enrolled in almost all AP or PreAP classes. As a sophomore, I scored a 200 on the PSAT, and recently received a 1300/1600 on the SAT and a 28 on the ACT. I would love the oppurtunity to run track and cross country at a university that would challenge me both academically and athletically. I am open to all types of schools, and have not decided what to major in.
