I am a 5'8", 800 m, 400 m and Cross Country runner from Houston, Texas. I have started on the Varsity Cross Country Team since my freshman year at Maybe Creek High School. This year I am the Cross Country team captain. My first year on the track team I won district in the freshman 800 m. This last summer I qualified for the Junior Olympics with Track Houston in the 4 x 800 m. My GPA is 3.22 and in October I will be taking the SAT and ACT.
I also started on the school’s Varsity Soccer team this last year. We made it to the fourth round of the state playoffs. I would have two soccer games then run in a track meet all in one week. This hurt my track results and my times will improve this year. I am dedicated to improving my track times. My work-out schedule consists of running every morning before school and I work out after school, my day ends with a run after homework is completed. I am the first to get to the field and last to leave.
I am looking for an institution where I can find the right balance between the classroom and the track. I would like to pursue a university with an outstanding academic reputation in the field of business. It is my dream to run in college while pursuing my education. I will absolutely consider all opportunities. I am open to private, public or Christian schools. My family does qualify for federal aid/grants. I am looking forward to a chance to take my running to the next level.
