Garrett McGregor '18 Recruiting Profile

I started running when I was in 6th grade and quickly fell in love with it. Ever since then, I run everyday that ends in "Y". With a young Cross-Country team in my Freshman year, I made the Varsity team and became a leader in the program. We train everyday, and I always try to lead by example. Everyday I do something to make myself better than the day before. I encourage my team to give it their all in training and in everything they do.

I am not only a Student-Athlete, I also take part in many other extracurricular activities.  I compete in the UIL One Act Play through our theater department as well as participate in school plays throughout the year.  I also play varsity basketball for our school.  I volunteer at my church in the children's department as a leader in the kid's ministry and I lead in a Christian dance group that teaches kids how to be leaders through hip-hop dance.  During the summer, I work as a dental assistant in a dental office.

I think school is very important.  I take above level courses and try to maintain a high GPA. 

I want to attend a college that will best prepare me for the future. I would like to find the best college to help me obtain a degree and prepare for a career while still competing at the highest level possible. 

While attending college and running, I hope to inspire those around me and prove that hard work and perseverance will allow anyone to achieve their goals.
