Progress continues as PR's have gone from 10:06 my freshman year to 9:51 last year to 9:17 this year in the 3200. 3 seconds behind Robert Domanic (2013 Texas state champion) at the finish. Regional Cross Country placement went from 38 last year to 19 this year, and Nike South improvement from 68th to 31st. I can hardly wait to be on a competitive collegiate team! It was great getting to do a long run with a team on one of my visits!
Not too disappointed in not qualifying to get out of district as a junior in the 1600, as my 4:22 followed my sophomore 4:32 PR and my freshman PR of 4:48. It was great to see my friends at regional for the 3200 in the spring, and the top 3 finishers at state all came from my region. It took a 9:02 to make state from region 1.
I'm currently a senior that just finished up my last high school cross country season at Coppell High School in Coppell, Texas. Running is more than just a sport to me, it's my way of life. Every time i set foot on a track, I become motivated to achieve my next goal in the sport I love. I've run at the varsity level for cross country for three years, and track for two years; in that time, I have never run a JV race. Someday, I hope to one day be at the NCAA Division I Cross Country Championships from a strong Division I school.
Since I was 9 years old, I have wanted to study Atmospheric Sciences/Meteorology and hope to major in that department of study. I'm looking forward to having the opportunity to taking my passion of running to the next level, and the opportunity to achieve higher goals at the next level.
