Brantley Young '13 Recruiting Profile

I am currently a senior attending a secondary school in Coppell, Texas called New Tech High @ Coppell. Since it is a secondary school, I participate in the larger 5A high school's athletics (Coppell High School). I have been a varsity runner the past three seasons of my high school career and am looking forward to leading the team as a captain this season in all aspects.

Last year I applied and was accepted for my schools NTC (Networking Team Captains Council) and have been accepted agian this year as a senior. The past two years I have volunteered to help out Special Olympic athletes. My sophomore year I applied for the Learner Leadership Council and recieved acceptance as one of the few underclassman to qualify. I have been able to maintian a 4.85 GPA on a 5.0 scale since freshman year. I have been an NCSA member for a long time, giving me the advantage of knowledge towards the recruiting process. Through NCSA, XC, Track, School, outside of school activities, family, and church, I have learned how to professionally interact with people, teammates, fellow students, coaches, and authoraties. I have learned how to build relationships that mean more than just productivity and so much more. Because of gained experience like what I mentioned above, I am able to strive and lead in and outside of the classroom setting, on and off the track/course. 

Finding the right college for me has been a huge journey that strarted the day I started running. My dream has been to be a captain of my towns XC team, be a varsity team member, graduate highschool with honors, run in college, attain a masters degree, and lead someone to christ. I have already accomplished half of my dream and am looking to plow through the rest of it. I looking for D1, D2, and NAIA 4-year colleges/universities bordering Texas or even located in the great lone star state!
