Personal Statement

NoMy goals for college are to run cross country and track while obtaining an undergraduate degree with a pre-medicine focus. I then intend to move forward with graduate studies in the medical field, potentially in a DO program. (Possibly a double-major) Academic & Athletics have always been a natural part of my everyday life. One of which, I just always took as my daily routine, and didn't give it much thought. I have played soccer, basketball, football, ran XC and track and been really good...actually compared to most I was above average on just natural talent alone with little effort. Then, just this summer (2014), at the NC State XC Camp something clicked, a passion, a desire so to speak, arose in me and everything became crystal clear all at once. I realized my natural ability will only get me so far, if I want the best, I have to be the best, and train with the best. I have stepped it up for myself, my team, my coaches, and my family. My accountability begins with me. I have re-evaluated my work ethic, nutrition &; diet, hydration, and so on. The changes have made a huge difference and I have shaved my times tremendously. I am setting new goals for myself each meet, and I am striving to not only push myself but my teammates on the course and in the classroom. I challenge myself academically by taking honors, and AP courses and will have had 4 years of Latin at graduation. I often help my teammates by tutoring those who may need extra help and feel as if I have a lot to offer to any program who may be interested in having me run for them due to my positive character, honest integrity, and grounded sense of responsibility that have been instilled by having had the love of supportive parents.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
