Personal Statement
My name is Andrew Powell. I'm a dedicated, focused, and hard working runner. I have a strong passion for the sport which allows me to enjoy and follow the sport closely.
I was introduced to running at an early age while my mom competed in and organized road races. My running career started in the 4th grade competing against 5th and 6th graders. After my first school season I started running in the summer track circuits for Williamson Youth Track Club for 3 years. I continued my career into middle school at Brentwood Academy which is where I started Cross Country. Once I started in high school I picked up Indoor track and now compete in all 3 running seasons.
My dream is to one day run in college then professionally and after I would like to coach at a high school, college, or club level. I've always looked up to Matthew Centrowitz Jr., Galen Rupp, Bernard Lagat, and Nick Symmonds during my early running career. My favorite events are the 800m and the 1600m, but I am not opposed to running anything from the 400 to the 5K.

Whole camp was on campus at Hayward Field and Autzen Stadium.
