My name is Jack Timmerman, and I am a runner.
But there are other things you should know about me.
First of all, I am an Army brat. My father is a career Army officer and has been deployed to combat 3 times during the last 5 years. My experience as a child of the military defines me. I am good at dealing with change because I have moved so often. I am responsible and mature because I have had to be. I am self motivated because I am always having to prove myself to new groups of individuals. I respect leadership, and strive to become a leader myself. I give 100% every time I practice, and every time I compete. Excellence is always my goal.
I spent the first 3 years of high school at Junction City High School in Junction City, Kansas. I pushed myself to succeed at Cross Country and Track, and competed at 4 Kansas State Championship Meets.
Because of my father's career, I had to move during my senior year to Spring Valley High School in Columbia, South Carolina. My goal with my new team is to: A. Succeed on a personal level. By this I mean finishing out the Cross Country season as a top 5 runner in the state of SC, with recorded times in the 15 minutes; and B. Drive my team to succeed as well. For the first time in my life, I am on a winning team, and I had no idea how rewarding it would be to achieve excellence on a team level.
After High School I hope to compete at the Collegiate level. I will be an asset to any team that I am a part of, not only because of my speed and athletic ability, but also because of my leadership and motivational skills.
Also, for what it's worth, I am a pretty good singer.
