Hi, my name is Desmond Bernal, I have been running track and field since my Freshman year in high school. I never thought of running track before I was in high school, but when I did start it my freshman year I really enjoyed the sport. I have been running track for three years now and I love it, I love being with my teammates and love trying to get better and trying to get my teammates better too. I am a very hard working athlete and every day I am trying to get better. I am very loyal to my team and I try to keep the chemistry between the team good and I am a great leader because for athletes that are new to Track I help teach them about the sport and I also make them feel very welcomed. I do whatever I am told to for the benefit of the team because at the end of the day, I want to help the team as much as I possible can to win a championship. My Junior year was a very good year for me in Track because I achieved many of personal records. In the 55 meter dash I got a new PR of a time of 6.85 before I was running a time of 7.00 in the 55 meter dash. It was a great time for me because it motivated me to trying to run even faster than that. Another PR I achieved was in the 4x200 meter relay, I was the anchor for my relay team and in the New England Regional's I ran a split of 22.87. This was a huge PR for me because all year i was trying to break a split of 23 and to do this at the end of the Indoor Track Season was very remarkable because it showed that all my hard work during the season payed off. I am looking forward to running Track in college because I am looking forward achieving new personal records and I also want to further my experience in Track and Field. Also I am looking forward to be fully committed to a team and my teammates and hopefully can come into the program and help the team win a championship.
