I believe that continually raising the bar for one’s self is pivotal for improvement, both in my collegiate and athletic goals. My short term goals are to continue to perform well at OFSAA and the Canadian Nationals, as well as represent Canada in the IAAF World Youth Games for both the 1500m and 3000m. My long term goals include winning the NCAA title in both track and cross country with my team and to one day represent Canada in the Olympics.
My love for running has taught me about perseverance, dedication and resolve in the face of adversity, which I feel is an important life lesson and quintessential in achieving your goals in the future, whatever they may be. I strive for success not only on the track, but more importantly in the classroom; I am self-driven and always bring 150% effort into everything I do. Respect for coaching, teachers and teammates are essential in the pursuit of success. I believe that with a strong work ethic, confidence, passion and heart, no goal is unattainable.
Running has also taught me about balance and time management, which has helped me achieve both Honor Roll and Athlete of Year throughout my high school career. In addition, I have extensive training in both leadership and peer mediation skills which I apply to everything I do. I believe that sportsmanship and being humble are paramount to any athlete's success. It is my hope that I can one day be a positive role model to future athletes pursuing their goals and dreams too.
