Personal Statement

My name is Caleb Schmitzer, I'm a very dedicated athlete who prefers to work with a team than workout solo.  My academic strength has kept my weighted GPA at a 4.0 which is nice to have.  I've been the captain of my high school cross country team for 2 years running, my first year as captain was my sophomore year and I'm currently a junior.  I'm currently thinking of going into Criminal Justice in order to one day become a U.S. Marshal.  In order to see if law enforcement was something I liked I've started doing an exploration program that allows me to see what everyday officers do and it's definitely something I look forward to.

Academic Accomplishments

Are you in honor classes?
Yes. The honors classes I have taken throughout high school include English I and II, Biology, Algebra II, Earth and Environmental Science, Chemistry and Pre-Calculus I. These courses were harder than the normal courses but not really all that challenging, they supposedly provided a little bit of extra work than the normal courses but other than that they were nothing truly special.
Are you in AP/IB classes?
Yes. I am taking AP English III and AP United States History, both classes are much harder than I expected and have a huge workload compared to other classes I've taken. AP English III is the roughest English I've ever had to take but it's easy enough that I can pass it without to much trouble. AP United States History is harder than I'm used to because we're given few graded assignments and if you mess up on one or two your grade plummets. They are supposed to be college level courses and are much harder than any others that I've taken before.
