Michael Pedemonte '11 Recruiting Profile

My name is Michael Pedemonte, and I am a senior at Weddington High School, which is a division 3A/4A high school located in Weddington, NC. My goal is to run track in college. I just started running track after 4 years of playing high-level club soccer (Classic A) in the spring and school soccer in the fall. I have 2 varsity letters in high school soccer and was part of the starting rotation my junior and senior years. In North Carolina, most schools run a winter track program that finishes with a state track meet in February. To date, our team has competed in two meets. In my first meet, I competed in the 500 m run and finished at 1:13.7 min., which is 2.7 secs. off the state track meet qualification time. In my second meet, I competed in the 300 m run and finished with a time of 36.9 seconds, which qualified me for the state track meet. We just ran our third meet, in which my 4 x 400 team qualified for States. In just three track meets, I have shown very good potential, which can be further developed. I am a very hard worker and take competition seriously. I also have this competitive drive in the classroom with a weighted GPA of 3.89.
