Hello,

My name is Derek M. Puryear and I'm an outstanding young man. I have an awesome personality that's filled with respect, passion, dedication and motivation. I'm very enthusiastic and I have a positive attitude every second of everyday! My parents taught me to always respect myself and others at all times. I have many goals in my life that I MUST work hard to achieve.  My grades are my number one priority because without good grades I can't fulfill my dreams. My heart desire is to run track or play football in college. I have always devoted my life to sports starting from the age of six and I work very hard daily to be the best I can in football and track to achieve my goals. I'm thirsty and striving for excellence as I refuse to give up or be defeated. I show great sportsmanship and I despise the feeling of defeat no matter if it's a game of football or a track meet, I refuse to loose.  My dad is my mentor and motivator as he stays on me 24/7 to make sure that I'm upholding my responsibilities and working hard everyday.  My dad along with my little brother and I all strive to be great in everything we do. Every weekend we're working out at Golds Gym or running at the track to get ahead of our competition. While most of my peers are at home playing video games or on their cell phones, I'm out running sprints or lifting weights to show college coaches that I'm a honorable athlete that would love to be a part of your team.
