My name is Luke Pascale I am a senior at Roslyn High School in Roslyn, New York. I am 5' 10" tall and 146 Lbs. Up until my freshman year I was in special education classes. I have a speech impediment called Dysarthia which makes it difficult to raise my tongue and to move it laterally; this as you might guess affected my ability to function in a mainstream setting.
I decided that I wanted to do better in school and discovered track and field. I have become very focused and determined since my freshman year; something I believe comes from track and field. I am now in all mainstream classes and have a (B) average. It is my desire to continue to excel in my academics and go on to college and further my education and compete in track.
I am looking for a college with a more personal approach to education. I am self-motivated, captain of my team, a good listener and very coachable. I run and practice on my own time and am constantly calling my teammates to motivate them to come with me. Today I just beat my personal best in 55m hurtles with a time of 7.64 and my personal best in 300m with a time of 37 seconds. I continue to strive and do better. Today I beat 110 PR- 14.5 and my 400IH- 56 PR and 400m PR - 52. In the year of 2012 I came in first place in the 59th Bishop Loughlin Games at the Armory and making Newsday!!!
I would love to continue with my track as I believe it has made me the person and student I am, and I would love the challenge of contributing to a team on a collegiate level.
