My name is Isaiah Reifschneider and I am 6'0, 180 lbs. I play defensive end and tight end. The two major influences on my life have been my uncle and my grandfather. Both are Marine Corps. veterans and I was brought up with discipline and respect. I learned that nothing in life is handed to you; you have to work hard every day.
I became interested in football by watching it on television and then playing in the street with my friends. I started playing with NMYAFL when I was in sixth grade and from then on, I was hooked on the game. Football has taught me that passion can drive you the most. I can do so many things I did not think I could do before and my love for football extends beyond what I can do on the field. This past spring, I became an assistant defensive coach for a NMYAFL flag football team. Our team was made up of eight year old boys and girls, some who have played football before and some who had not. We made it to the semi-finals but fell short of the finals. However, the experience of coaching helped me to understand different facets of the game.
I strive to maintain the same passion in my school life. My academic goals for high school are to maintain a 3.5 GPA and to be the hardest working person in my class. As I transition from high school to college, I hope to continue working hard as a student, to expand my knowledge of different subjects, and to build myself as an athlete.
