As a senior at Christian Brothers Academy (CBA), I've had incredible opportunities in XC, Track and in the classroom. These past few weeks of cross country have been unbelievable. This past weekend, our team placed 1st in the Northeast and I was a major contributor as 3rd man, placing 21st. The race prior, I ran in the State Groups race and our team took 1st place, too. I raced a PB at Holmdel Park, holding to the 4th man for CBA. The week prior, I placed first at Greystone Park in the NJCTC Conference Championship. It's evident that I am working hard and improving every week with new personal bests. I'm a consistent and reliable team player and a role model to the younger athletes. Next stop: Portland, Oregon to run for the Nike National Championship.
Academically, I have a 89.3 average to date. CBA is a private college prep school that provides young men with a rigorous curriculum and a broad range of academic, athletic, and cultural activities. Since my sophomore year, I was selected as an Ambassador and I participate in the Students Against Destructive Decisions Club. I typically have 3 or more hours of homework every evening after I finish practice.
Training year-round and maintaining honor roll is both a challenge and a goal. Time with family and friends, and balancing my daily schedule are priorities. For years I have participated in community service of which my favorite is Challenger Sports, where I mentor special needs kids in soccer, basketballl. In order to be responsible in a work environment, I hold a part-time job at Wegmans and I've been told I make the best subs ever.
As I complete my college applications, I want coaches to know that I'm a dedicated athlete who is focused on working hard to be successful now and in the future. Today, as a competitive runner my dreams would be reached if I could continue this passion to run in the college setting.
