Freshman year I had the greatest coach that anyone could ask for. He was let go and since then I have basically been working and progressing on my own aside from a few visits between my freshman year coach and me. My collegiate goals are first and most importantly to attend a school that has a solid coach for javelin since I know how bad it is not having one. I work as hard as I possibly can, for I coach other javelin throwers on my team. I hope to attend college and focus mainly on myself, which I haven't been able to do since freshman year. I'm attentive and understand the importance of receiving proper teaching. Academically, I am a solid student that is able to grasp basic concepts and run with them, a trait that translates to my athletic career. This is shown by the fact that without consistent coaching I was able to increase my personal record from 113' to 142' between freshman and sophomore year and so far my junior year I have progressed and now have a personal best of 165'3". The research I have done to become the best thrower I can be is second to none and I appreciate all help and advice offered that will help me become a better athlete. The last thing I am looking for and certainly not the least important is a coach that will teach me more than just javelin, a coach that will help me better myself as a person and become a man.
