Being a part of a large competitive family has always pushed me to try to be better than my peers. This drive and determination, in my eyes, is what helped my team and I qualify for New Jersey State Groups my sophomore and junior year. I started running spring track my freshman year, and winter track my sophomore year mainly to try to stay in shape, but now I am a passionate racer. Within the past two years, track as a whole has helped me realize that I have the mental strength to push myself to new limits both on and off the track. With every season I have run track, my grades have only continued to improved and I plan to keep up the trend through college. I hope to find a balance where I can find the right coaching staff and academic program for me.
As a racer and anchor of my sprint medley and 4x800m teams, my goal on the track is to catch as many people in front of me as I possibly can. I believe that having an explosive start and a strong kick in the second half of any race is key, and if I can still feel my legs at the end of the race, I wasn't going fast enough.
All in all, my determination, resilience, and hunger to improve would make me a great fit for your team; I hope to build great relationships with my teammates and coaches at the college level, and to have a successful first season on your team.
