Hi, my name is Carlo Martines. I am a senior at Cherry Hill West in New Jersey. I am looking forward to my senior year both academically and athletically. I have a challenging course schedule and will also be involved in a number of after school clubs. But most of all I am looking forward to participating in my first year of Cross Country, followed by the Indoor Track Season, one of my favorites, and again followed by what I believe will be my break out Outdoor Track season where I have set some very aggressive goals for myself. I want to race in the Penn Relays High School Mile, which means I have to break the 4:20 mark. My junior year was filled with personal milestones in Track. It started off in the Indoor Season with a Personal Best 4:33 mile and receiving the most outstanding track athlete on my varsity high school team. Then in the Outdoor Track season I started off fast with another Personal Best 4:31 mile in my first outdoor dual meet and continued with some very strong performances throughout the outdoor season. My best times during the outdoor track season included a 4:24, 4:25, and 4:26. I also ran the 800 meters and recorded times of 1:59, 2:00, and 2:01. I made the Olympic Conference 1st team in the mile, and Olympic Conference 2nd team in the 800m. I want to run in college and look forward to joining a competitive track program, and to be an immediate contributor on the varsity track team.
