Dalen Fink '10 Recruiting Profile

My goals are mostly for the immediate future; right now I have one main one: State Champion. I would be the first non-wrestler at our school to have his picture put up on that wall in our school. I would like to get our 4x800m relay team to the state championships, also. I have a relatively average athletic build 5'9", about 145 pounds. I wish I was about two inches taller, but then who doesn't? I have a good combinaton of speed and stamina, which makes me a good 800m runner. I get very nervous before races, but then that means I care. Someone wouldn't be pacing back and forth and shifting around in class on race days if they were not so dedicated to their sport. I also hate to lose. If it is something that I'm not too good at, then it's fine. But if I believe I am very good, I will not lose, and I am very good at runing the 800m. I have run track all fours years of high school, and was undefeated in the 800m my junior year (2009) until the sectional race, where I was disqualified for a uniform violation. I broke my school's 800m record, and was the achor of the 1600m relay team that also broke our school's record. I am the unofficial captain of our track team, along with my friend Blake. I was, also, the team captin of our varsity soccer team. I always practice hard, because you practice the way you play I do not know what I want to study, nor where I want to go to school. I'm not sure of even what type of school I would prefer, so I am willing to go almost anywhere. I feel like I have fallen very far behind in the recruiting process, and I severely regret not getting involved earlier. But it is better late than never. I realize that by this time many athletic scholarships ave been given out but I really need the finacial assistance. I just want to run somewhere.
