As a member of the class of 2016 I'm seeking a highly competitive program and coach. I would like to be a member of a NCCA Championship team and gain All-American Status. During my college carrier I would like to compete at the World level and be invited to the Olympic Trails.I'm disciplined, focused, and respectful of my team and and school. This month at the AAU Nationals in Norfolk, Virginia I finished in 1st place in the Decathlon, 7th place in the Javelin, and 8th place in the High Jump. I was awarded the Joel Farrell Memorial Award for Outstanding Performance in a Multi-Event. It was an honor that I'm very proud of since it is not given based on performance alone but on sportsmanship and performance. I competed in the New Balance National Indoor Pentathlon and Outdoor Decathlon with a 4th place finish at both events. I won the High School State Championship in the 110 Hurdles, finished in 3rd in the Long Jump, and in 8th in the 300 Hurdles. I finished 3rd at AAU Nationals in the Decathlon in Ypsilanti, MI and 4th in Des Monies, Iowa. I had a 4rd place finish in the Javelin in Ypsilanti, MI.
I realized I could watch film, video, and races of other athletes to improve my performance. I had a coach that suggested that I try the decathlon. The physical strength and mental aspect of the event fuels me. I look forward to the second day more than the first. I study my opponents and review their strengths to prepare for each event. Math is one of my strengths which gives me a competitive edge. I have an idea of what other athletes will achieve and I run the numbers against my own marks. I have only begun to grow as a multi athlete and am seeking the school and coach the will work with me to get to the next level. I know that I have what it take to be an NCCA Champion and help a college team succeed.
