3-21-14: Just a note to coaches. For my entire high school career I have been running with a ferritin level of 14. I believe that is the factor that keep my 5K PR at only an 18:18. I have now gone gluten free and last week my level was 57!!! It is now track season...let's see what happens.
This is my fourth year running varsity cross country. I have been named team captain this year and my team has a pre-season rank of 13th in the State. After 3 successful years I hope and believe that we will have another great season this year despite losing our #1 runner to graduation (Scott Carpenter, Georgetown XC).
I also have run track for the last 2 years. I joined to run the 400m, but I have done pretty well in the long jump and high jump also. I think that as I learn the proper form in each of those events I could really do much better (they are more difficult than I thought!).
I am in the National Honor Society and am taking Honors and AP classes this year. I believe that I will pursue a business degree in college.
I would love the opportunity to compete at track and/or cross country at the college level.
