I am a student with not only athletic aspirations but with academic ones as well. I strive to push myelf to exeed my PR's during every race. Academically speaking I tend to not settle for mediocre but strive for excellence. If you decide to choose me for your team, I promise that you won't regret your decision. Last year (my freshman year) I only ran the 400m dash and some minor success and then we bet a dollar by my coach that I couldn't stay within 10 seconds of this kid who would go on to hit around 2:10 and I hit around 2:15. After that I was put on the varsity 4x800 team and we won regionals were I got a time of 2:05 (and also unofficially broke the freshman record for the 800m dash which was 2:07). Our team went on to win the regional title for the 4x800 and placed 8th at states.
I look to further myself both individually and as a component of a team to improve my preformance in both categories in the upcoming track season. Even though I have only had one season on the track team I feel as if I am a pleasant person even if I am a bit shy, once I get in the groove of things I'll improve my preformance in practice as well as getting to know my (hopefully) new team and coaches.
