Casimir Tawiah '16 Recruiting Profile

       Hello, my name is Casimir Tawiah and I would make an excellent candidate for your team because I am both a hard working athlete and student. Not only do I strive for excellence on the track, but also strive for excellence in the classroom. The priveledge of running track provides me with the focus that I need in the classroom because I understand that in order to participate I must maintain a certain academic standard. Throughout my three years of high school I have maintained a 4.1 cumulative, while also being second in state in the 110m Hurdles my sophomore year and becoming state champion my junior year. As you can see, academics and running track go hand in hand when evaluating my success! I have been a captain on my indoor track team for the past two years and I plan to lead my indoor and outdoor track team my senior year. 

In college I have an interest in majoring in biological sciences and focusing on Aquarium and Zoo science. I also plan to further my education by pursuing my masters degree, understanding that there is never an end to furthering one's education. Education is my number one priority and combining it with track just makes it even better. I know running track and field in college will benefit me because it will allow me to better cope with the expenses that come with earning a college education. So, by remaining determined, patient, and humble I am sure that I can succeed in my dreams at achieving an academic and athletic scholarship. I know it will not be easy, but things you work for will be worth it in the long run. I am unique in my own way because I am a first generation American in my family and I would love to make my parents and family proud; and proving to everyone that you can do anything you set your mind to.
