Alexander Halsey '13 Recruiting Profile

Coming from a family of athletes, sports have always been and always will be a big part of my life. I’ve been involved in sports since I was five years old. During my first encounter with sports I played football and ever since then I have been playing. I find myself to be competitive so football was right for me. I didn’t get involved in track until my junior year in high school. I found this sport to be more physically demanding than football. I also noticed it takes more mental toughness. Me being the person I am humble and open minded, I decided to stay with it and not quit. I consider going to college to be a priority for me. I know that playing sports in college is a privilege and that privilege can be taken away. Although I want the college experience, my school work is the main priority. I want to major in mechanical/physical engineering. I have a large interest on what and how things work and move. I know that I will graduate because of my work ethic. When I am surrounded by a group of people who feel the same I push myself even harder to ensure I get whatever it is that I am pursuing. If I want something and I’ve made the decision to go and get it there’s no stopping me. In this case it would be a college degree and I believe my ambition to go after my desires and not backing down from a challenge will help me graduate from college.
