Shamir Dozier '12 Recruiting Profile

 Hello Perspective Track Coach, My name is Shamir Anwon Dozier, I am a senior at Bishop McNamara High School, in Forestville, MD. I have been running track for 9 years and have worked hard to become the very best that I can be. I am a hard working person with outstanding work ethics when it comes to the sport of track & field. I believe I am a coaches dream because of my determination and great listening skills. I have competed at the Junior Olympics 8 out of the 9 years that I ran. I have been nationally ranked during these 9 years of competing and have medal in at least one event during this same period.  I have competed in events, such as the 100, 200, 400, 800 meter races, and 4x100, 4x400 and 4x800 relay races at the Junior Olympics.

God blessed me with the ability to run this wide range of races, so when I am asked to run any of these, I give it 100+ percent. Of all of the events, the 400 is my favorite race. Unfortunately, I did not get a chance to compete much last year, because I chipped a bone in my hip during football season, but I am  on the mend and stronger than ever. I am very excited about the indoor season, as well as, the upcoming outdoor season, so that I can see the results of the hard work that my coaches and I put into getting me back to where I should be; and that is , on the track.

I would love to have opportunity to talk to you about your track program and learn all I can about your great school. I look forward to being a freshman at your college given the opportunity. I promise you I can make a difference in the classroom, on the track and in the college community.
