Tyler Henson '14 Recruiting Profile

My first time racing in a competitive school event was my 8th grade year when I chose to do cross country instead of trying football again. Since then I have been hooked on Track and Cross Country and have a passion for both. I am very competitive and have always set high standards for myself and do whatever I can to reach them. I have always dreamed of getting a scholarship to run somewhere and be competitive in that division. I know it is hard to receive a scholarship, but just like I did with making it to state as an unranked runner in cross country in 2012, dropping my time from 17:39 to 16:20 in one year for cross country, making it to state in track in 2012 and now in 2013, and being a 3 year varsity letterman so far in cross country, I don't let people tell me I can't or that something is impossible. My goal for track in my Junior year is to qualify for Drake Relays as well as qualify for State. My Senior year I am making a goal of winning the Conference title, and leading my team to a state title birth in cross country.
