I trained for cross country my freshman year and developed ankle problems due to growth spurts. I developed 3 different types of tendonitis in both of my feet and was told by the doctor to stop running. Once I was allowed to run, I began slowly training in January of 2012 and ran JV on the track team. I continued training through the summer, gradually increasing my mileage. In the fall of 2012, I ran cross country and earned a position on the post-season roster. In November of 2012, I made the decision to get serious about running. After a hard winter of training, I am now posting the fastest times on my distance team and still have much room and desire for improvement. I plan on putting in a summer of hard work to get me to the next level. My goals for senior year are 15:45 for my 5K, under 4:30 for my 1600m, and under 9:30 for my 3200m. I love running and I want to be the best.
In college I look forward to moving up to the 5000 and 10,000 meter distances.
