*4 Years Varsity Cross Country, 2 years Track
*768 service learning hours... I have worked hard and committed to help and here are some of the things I have done: Chicago Park Dist. Junior Leader 3 years, Rec. Leader 2 years , I organized a day camp and 22 campers I was responsible for. I believe I made a difference for them and we had fun and we all learned a lot!
*4 years Chicago Marathon Volunteer, gave information to runners... directions etc.
* Freshman Mentor 2 years, I was appointed by Admissions Director and students I help incoming Freshman during Orientaiton, I also am a speaker and answered parents/students questions during these meetings, Ive done this 5 times over the course of 2 years.
*Best Buddies- When people come together to be friends with those whom are disabled. Ive been an active buddy for 3 years and was appointed (V.P.) last year, I head up and organize many events for the Best Buddies organization in Illinois and at my school…. my Buddy is Brandon, we look out for each other and we spend time together at school Ive gotten to know him and his family & vise - versa. This has been a great we will be forever friends.
*I Raised $1000 in 6 days for a trip/mission to South Africa. I purchased various school items for a school in Johannesburg. This was an amazing experience! You can see pictures on Whitney Young website under Students Go to South Africa.
*Student Council Executive Board…., I was voted in and help with organizing and fundraising for school events. Im in charge of PR Chair. I do website and organize meetings.
*Habitat for Humanity….. 2x a month, and whenever I have extra time. I unload and load donations and price various items. Its hard work and I really enjoy it!
* I was volunteered by the Principal of my school to be school mascot 2015/2016.
*Founded and started company as a Freshman after a Mycelia Science Project. Whitney Young Eco Products. I along with help from other students have been making products that are all natural. Ive made products in my kitchen too. We sell..deodorant, lip balm, soap, bath balms, lip scrubs (my sisters idea). In the school store, and at other small fairs. Whole Foods is aware of the company and I was contacted….wait to see.
*I love being a leader and helping others, I work hard at everything I do.
