My goal for this season is to continue to increase vaulting by 1.5 feet to finish around 14’-3”. Ultimately, upon graduating from high school, I aspire to be vaulting around 15’-9”, become a 2 time indoor conference champion, a 3 time outdoor conference champion, break the school record for pole vault (15.0’-½”), qualify for the state meets, and place as high as possible. I also competed in the 400M dash and the 4 x 400M relay. I strive for my individual time to be around 0.51 seconds. My collegiate goals: are to graduate with a degree in sports medicine, to compete at the collegiate level in pole vault (striving to be in the 18’ range), and to compete in other events besides pole vault. I have always loved sports. Being active is a huge part of who I am. I have played a wide variety of competitive sports but have found that pole vault is my passion. It challenges me both physically and mentally. I am always willing to learn new things and take constructive feedback to immediately improve my performance. My love for being challenged and learning new things has also peaked my interest in the decathlon.
My strong work ethic has helped me be successful in both academic and sports careers. I challenge myself by taking advance placement courses to be better prepared to be successful in college. I do very well in math and science. The human body intrigues me; therefore, combining all of these with sports has lead to my interest in sports medicine. I have had personal experiences with the athletic trainers in school sports and with chiropractic. Helping athletes compete at their highest possible level would be a dream career for me.
