Personal Statement

My collegiate goal is to major in Engineering or Computer Science.   While in college, I want to be a distance runner in the 1500 up to the 10k and cross country.  I have a love for running and want to carry it to college. I have been running competitively in high school for three years.  In addition to cross country and track, I have done a half marathon in 1:22:04,  placed 16 overall in a duathlon, and completed a 45 mile bike ride (Georgia 400).

I am a great candidate for a college team in part because I respect my coaches and teammates, bring a positive attitude, and have an exceptional work ethic.   As a freshman at North Atlanta High School I helped my coach along with  two (2) other people clear a trail for the cross country team.  This was done knowing that I was transferring schools.   At my previous church I helped by cleaning "the kid's church"  and assisted in preparing for the service.  Since my family moved to Acworth (Georgia), I volunteer at Post 304 of the Sons of American Legion and help with Hollydale UMC food bank.

Goal setting and hard work have been essential to my training.  In 2017, my personal goals were to run the 1600m in 4:20, the 3200m in 9:20, and to break 16 minutes in cross country.  As of now, I am running the 1600m in 4:21, the 3200m in 9:26, and 16:01 in cross country.  My goals for 2018 are to run the 1600m in 4:12, the 3200m in 9:10, and 15:30 in cross country.  Currently, I run an average of 70 miles per week.  My goal for 2018 is to increase that to 75 miles per week.  To help me to reach my goals, I would be attending two running camps this summer and a church camp.  Academically, my goal is to improve my GPA to 3.7 or better.  Personally, I plan to serve my new church and  community organizations.  I am researching volunteering with my local library.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
