I value the meaning of being a student athlete and i understand that i am a student before an athlete. My parents stress to me all the time about being a student first then an athlete second, school is always primary. Just to have an opportunity to run at the next level would be truly a blessing. A blessing that will not be taken advantaged of. Considering this is my first year doing track in high school I look to get better and better as the year progresses. I am very committed to running at the next level wherever that is. I just want to go a school that i know fits me best and that will ensure me a great 4 years to come. I am fairly pleased with how i have done my first year making it to states as well as the AAU Junior Olympics also i look to continue to strive and get better. I also hope to one day run in the Olympics but i know that it will take hours and countless hours of hard work to achieve that goal.
Going to a 4 year university whether it is D1, D2 , or even D3 has always been a goal as well as a major dream of mine. But i know its not going to be easy and that i am going to have to put in hours of hard work which i am willing to do to be great. I want to be able to go to a program get an education and compete against the best and i know if i put in the time and hard work by the grace of god i will accomplish the goals i set out. It took me a couple years to finally realize that track was the sport i had to start balancing my time towards. Since i play basketball for my high school team as well.
I will need financial aid, i believe i will get it considering my mother is self employed.
