Hi, my name is Ian Yates and I'm currently a senior at Seabreeze High School. My freshman year I was part of the varsity swim team and varsity track & field team. This was my first year ever running competitively. Sophomore year I decided to run cross country instead of swimming, I was on the varsity team, had the fastest PR for my team, and received the MVP award at the end of the season. I then went on to run track in the spring. My summer going into junior year was a bumpy road with injuries though I was able to make it back in time for the ending of cross country season. I received the MVP award this year as well. Summer going into senior year was my best training summer yet, ridding myself of injury and running a road PR of 17:16 (5k).
