Personal Statement

I am 6ft 4in and weigh about 220 pounds.  I have been involved in sports throughout my whole life, mainly playing baseball and basketball.  I have always been one of the tallest kids in my class and very athletic.  I did play freshman football at Xavier High School in Middletown, where we were undefeated, but did not continue after that.  I didn't feel football was where I wanted to continue my athletic abilities.  The coaches at my current high school hoped I would play for them, but I decided to pursue Track and Field, instead.  As a freshman, I was a varsity javelin thrower at Xavier High School.  I continued to throw for the varsity teams at Xavier, as I was one of their top throwers.  When I transferred to Morgan High Schoo as a juniorl, I immediately became the number one thrower for the school in javelin and discus, and took 1st place in javelin at most of the meets.  I became a leader in instructing the other throwers how to throw javelin.  As a junior, I placed 4th in the Running Rams Invitational where about 20 schools attended.  I competed in javelin and discus at the Shoreline Conference Championship where I qualified for the Class S State Championship.  There I placed 9th in javelin.  I feel javelin is my strength, but plan to continue to grow in shotput and discus my senior year.  I also plan on being a Co-Captain for the Track and Field Team this coming Spring, 2012.  I have a passion for javelin and have succeeded with very little coaching and training.  I know I will continue to improve this year and dream to throw javelin in college, where I will receive the best coaching and training.
I am very flexible as to where I go to college.  If I had to choose, I prefer to stay in New England or Eastern United States, though.  Size of school is not important to me. I would like to study Sports Medicine or Criminal Justice, if possible.
I just want to throw javelin/discus and maybe even shotput, in college, at most any level.
