I am a dedicated sprinter from Arizona. I run for a very small charter school that does not have access to a track (we practice on soccer fields). Therefore, every week I set aside numerous extra hours of practice on a local, public track to make sure I can compete at my very best. I have only participated in track and field for 2 seasons so far, but have qualified for and competed in the state championship meet for every event I competed in (this most recent season I made it to finals and finished 5th in the 200 with a time of 23.26 and 7th in the 100 with a time of 11.68. I achieved my PR of 11.48 in the preliminaries.). I hold the school records for the 100m, the 200m, 4x100 relay, and the long jump, and plan on breaking the 400m record too. Next season I will be team captain. I believe in making the most of every single practice to work towards my goal of running track at the collegiate level. I always push myself and my limits as much as possible. I also love to see my teammates succeed, and invest quite a bit of time in training with them, teaching them everything I know about sprinting, and cheering them on during their races.
Ideally, I would prefer to go to a school on the western side of the country in states such as AZ, CA, NV, OR, UT, WA, TX, NM, and even HI. I l deeply love living and training in these kind of environments. I'm looking to compete at the NCAA Divison II, NCAA Divison III, or NAIA level, but would be thrilled if I was given the honor of running at the NCAA Division I level. Academics are very important to me, and I want to compete at an academically sound school. I would be comfortable in any size school, but ideally I would want to be in an environment where the professors know who I am and I could connect one on one with them. I am a Christian but I'm open to most types of schools. My family and I do have some financial need. I am currently undecided in my major but am diligently working to decide on one ASAP. My future goals are to run track as a freshman in college and to make an impact on the team. I want to constantly do my absolute best in everything I do, especially in track and academics.
