Hello, I'm Ben Enriquez, I am looking for an opportunity to play tennis at the college level. I have achieved great awards, I'm currently a Junior at Rocksprings High School and also enjoy playing basketball. My freshman year in tennis I received the 2nd place medal in the District Tournament and I received the bronze medal at the Regional Tournament. As a Sophomore, I was unfortunate and suffered a injury early in the season and was unable to compete in District, Regionals or State. My Junior season, I have to say has been my best! I have been working really hard and have been very dedicated to the sport, not only during the school year, but also through USTA. I come from a small school where the tennis program is not a strong one. Tennis athletes are also scarce at our school. Competitive play is hard to find. I find myself along with my parents traveling over 100 miles to have competitive practice on a regular basis. My junior year, I was motivated and determined. I was District Champion. At the Regional Tournament I received the gold medal making me the Regional Champion. I competed in State Tournament and received recognition as the State Runner-up and had the honors of receiving the silver medal. Although I would have preferred the gold medal and the title of "State Champion" it didn't happen for me this year! But I will definitely have my mind set on that for my senior year.
I consider myself a fast learner, committed, reliable and determined. I get along with others easily. I've always played singles in tennis, but my experience on the basketball court will show that I am a team player. I like to be respected, therefore I treat others with respect. I enjoy helping others and have an open mind to criticism. I have shown through my school years to be responsible, motivated, flexible and have good analytical skills.
Although I would love to play tennis at the college level, I also love to play basketball and my goal for basketball is to make it to the playoffs again during my Senior year! I would like to earn a degree in Engineering, I will study hard and dedicate myself so that I will be successful and inspiring to others!
