My name is Ryan Heslop and I am a Senior at Seven Lakes High School, a large 5A school located in Katy, TX. Seven Lakes finished 9th in the fall 2011 final Texas team tennis rankings and we have had a great start to the 2012 season, winning our first 6 matches, including victories over 5 of the top 15 teams from last season. I am the number 1 singles player and also play on the number 1 doubles team.
I didn't begin playing competitive tennis until my freshman year, following a throwing injury that ended my high school baseball aspirations. Although I throw baseballs right handed, the transition to tennis was a natural fit for me since I play tennis left handed. I have worked very hard to get to my current level and know I have a long ways to go to reach my full tennis potential, but look forward to the challenge. My goal is to play tennis at the collegiate level and to become a well rounded student athlete.
My GPA is 3.89 and I am an active member of National Honor Society and Spartans Out Serving- a community service organziation. My current career interests lie in the area of International Business. I love to travel and learn about other cultures and their history. One of my personal goals is to travel to all 7 continents.
